Alfie Devine has penned a new Tottenham contract that will keep him in North London until the summer of 2027 and posted on Instagram following after by Spurs on Tuesday – prompting reaction from Spurs transfer target Alex Scott.
Devine, 18, is considered one of the brightest talents in Tottenham’s academy. Already a five-time England Under-19 international, Devine hit the headlines when he scored on his senior Spurs debut under Jose Mourinho – now at Roma.
However, the midfielder has failed to make a second senior outing. But he remains a crucial part of the Under-21 side at Tottenham – clocking up 32 appearances for the second string. In that time, he has scored 11 goals from midfield.
His form in the second string has prompted Spurs to extend his current deal. Previous expiring in June 2024, Devine has now signed a deal which sees him lengthen his stay by three years. He took to Instagram, underlining his delight.

Devine is a huge talent and well deserving of a new deal at Spurs, given his form for the 21’s since joining. But he could be joined by Bristol City’s Scott. Alasdair Gold reported in the summer that Spurs were eyeing a £10m deal for Scott.
Indeed, Spurs are said to be scouting Scott. The two players have combined in England’s youth set-up. Likened to Jack Grealish, it might be that in the next couple of windows, Devine is joined by Scott in trying to break into Conte’s side.
Plenty of Tottenham players gave their reaction to the news that Devine has signed a new deal until June 2027 on his Instagram post. Scott also had his say, praising Devine with three words after the young ace put pen to paper at Spurs.
