Tottenham Hotspur loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers is 90 minutes away from winning a trophy ahead of Celtic’s League Cup final this afternoon.

Carter-Vickers joined Celtic on a half-season loan from Tottenham this past summer.

And the USA international is set to make the Hoops’ starting eleven for a Premier Sports Cup final clash with Hibernian at Hampden Park.

No doubt Spurs supporters will be interested in seeing how he gets on.

There’s a touch of irony that Carter-Vickers, someone with virtually no long-term future with the Lilywhites, could wrap his hands around a piece of senior silverware before Harry Kane.

Beast

Kane is pining to win trophies and although the Scottish League Cup isn’t exactly a top European honour, it would still be a special moment for Carter-Vickers.

Back in 2016, then-Tottenham powerhouse Jan Vertonghen labelled him an ‘absolute beast‘ for his immense strength but, despite his physical attributes, Carter-Vickers has been unable to fashion a senior career for himself in North London, with this being his seventh loan away from Hotspur Way.

The Premier League outfit slapped a £10 million asking price on him a few weeks ago, illustrating that he’s still an asset in financial terms, even if he has no future with the English side.
