Patrick Bamford has claimed that Leeds United have not yet peaked under Marcelo Bielsa.
The Whites are enjoying a superb return to the Premier League after a long and difficult 16 years in the lower divisions.
Bielsa masterminded a 1-1 draw against Manchester City last week, in a game where Leeds were perhaps unlucky not to take all three points.
And in the first game, United fought fire with fire away to champions Liverpool at Anfield but narrowly lost 4-3 to a late Mo Salah penalty.
With two wins against Fulham and Sheffield United wedged between both of those performance against elite opposition, Leeds are proving themselves to be a breath of fresh air, but Bamford, a £10 million signing in 2018, says they aren’t finished growing.
He told LUTV: “He [Bielsa] can still get more out of us but he’s done a great job and you can see the lads are really exuding confidence.”
If you’re a Leeds fan, you have to love Bamford’s comments.
When your team’s number nine says there’s more to come then that bodes extremely well, particularly because of what we’ve seen from the Elland Road club already this season.
We’re talking about a head coach who has managed the likes of Argentina, Athletic Bilbao and Marseille, so few would be surprised if Leeds do indeed gradually get better throughout the season.
