Patrick Bamford has sort of a love-hate relationship with the Leeds United fans.
The Elland Road faithful are often critical of the 26-year-old striker, who isn’t shy in sending his own messages to United supporters.
This season for example, Bamford scored and cupped his ear toward the Leeds fans with his celebration.
But it’s certainly a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder for the former Middlesbrough hitman, who has revealed that he misses the support.
Leeds haven’t had a home game since the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on March 7 due to the global health emergency.
And Bamford, a £10 million signing in 2018 [BBC Sport], was only just telling his girlfriend about how much he misses the ‘roar’ at Elland Road.
He told a Deliveroo on Q&A on Leeds’ Twitter account: “I was only thinking about this the other day and telling my girlfriend how much I miss walking out and hearing the roar.”
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were top of the Championship, with a seven-point cushion in the top two, when the season was suspended.
The Whites have been absent from the Premier League for 16 years, but hopefully for the fans’ sake they’ll still be cheering on their side in the top flight come next season.
