A round-up of transfer deadline day stories as of 10am involving reported movement from Tottenham Hotspur plus confirmed deals for Leeds United and West Ham United.
Spurs set to ship Cameron Carter-Vickers out on loan
According to Sky Sports News’ Transfer Centre (8/8, 09:41), Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is close to joining Championship side Stoke City on loan.
The 21-year-old United States international has come through the youth ranks at Spurs, playing four first team games for the Lilywhites, and was once described by Jan Vertonghen as an “absolute beast” (ESPN).
Carter-Vickers has spent much of the last three years on loan at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town and last season at Swansea City, and was reportedly sought after by “nearly half the Championship” (Teamtalk).
Leeds sign France youth goalkeeper Illan Meslier
Some confirmed movement from Elland Road this morning as France youth goalkeeper Illan Meslier joins the Whites from Lorient on a season-long loan deal (official Leeds website).
The 19-year-old made his senior debut at the Ligue 2 club last August, in a 1-0 victory over Valenciennes in the Coupe de la Ligue.
In total he made 30 appearances for the French side during the 2018/19 campaign in all competitions, recording 11 clean sheets, and has also won caps at both Under-18 and Under-19 level with France.

West Ham sign Switzerland striker Albian Ajeti
Another done deal, this time in the Premier League, as the Hammers announced the signing of Switzerland international striker Albian Ajeti from FC Basel for an undisclosed fee (official West Ham website).
The 22-year-old joins the East London side on an initial four-year contract, with an option to extend for a further two seasons, with Sky Sports having previously reported that he was to move for £8million.
Ajeti, who played his final game for the Swiss Cup holders in a Champions League qualifying win over PSV Eindhoven last week, has scored more than 40 goals over the past three seasons and is said to be to be one of Europe’s most promising young centre forwards.
