Pochettino could offer Rose ‘a way out’ at Tottenham

Danny Rose could still be heading for the Tottenham Hotspur exit door on Transfer Deadline Day and Mauricio Pochettino could be the one to offer him ‘a way out’ of the club, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook (31/01/21 at 7:40 am).

The writing has been on the wall for some while now for Rose, but even though he hasn’t even been assigned a squad number this season, he still remains on Tottenham’s books.

But amazingly enough, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed that amid Turkish side Trabzonspor offering him a three-year contract, his former boss, Mauricio Pochettino could potentially reunite with him.

It would no doubt be one of the stories of the day and the window if Rose does end up at PSG.

“This one is up in the air,” said Crook. “We might have been nearer the truth had he answered a call from our colleague, Jim White, on Friday, but he hung up.

“Trabzonspor have made him a really lucrative offer, a three-and-a-half-year contract. His contract is up in the summer.

“Also, it has been suggested to me that Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain might offer him a way out, so I think something could happen with Danny Rose between now and the 11 pm deadline.”

Newcastle set for busy transfer deadline day

Newcastle are seemingly set to be one of the busier teams on Deadline Day and there could be some departures.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has claimed that DeAndre Yedlin will be heading to Turkish side Galatasaray.

Whilst Burnley are trying for a surprise move for Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey before the day is out.

It does seem as though Yedlin will be heading for the exit door, but given that Steve Bruce needs midfielders, he’s surely not going to allow any of his current crop to leave.

But, you never know on Transfer Deadline Day.

“On the subject of Newcastle, I am hearing that DeAndre Yedlin is joining Galatasaray,” said Crook. “Again, that would leave them a little light in numbers. I think Steve Bruce is going to try and be active in the market.

“Yes, [his contract is up in the summer] and they are getting a few bob for him, so probably from a financial point of view, it makes economic sense.

On Shelvey: “This was given to be on Friday night that Burnley might try to get Jonjo Shelvey away from Newcastle. I think it would take a decent offer.

“He is very much part of Steve Bruce’s go-to line-up. He played well actually against Everton – Whether [Bruce] would be willing to sell Shelvey, to someone they class as a rival as well, in Burnley, I would say is unlikely.”

Murray on the move once again

It hasn’t worked out for Glenn Murray at Watford after the Brighton loanee only played five Championship games for the recently relegated side.

According to BBC Sport’s Transfer Blog (8:29 am), Murray will be making his second move of the season and he will now be heading to the Midlands and signing for Nottingham Forest.

Chris Hughton, who managed the 37-year-old at the Amex Stadium, will re-unite with the target man if the deal is concluded by Monday’s 11 pm deadline.
