Sead Kolasinac appears to have picked up an injury on international duty away from Arsenal.
The former Schalke powerhouse, who earns £100,000 per week in North London, failed to get a summer move away from the Gunners.
And this is bad news for Arsenal because it seems as if Mikel Arteta has very little intention of keeping him, his presence in the first XI against Manchester City last week notwithstanding
But now there’s even more bad news because Kolasinac could be sidelined for a time.
He went off injured in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s World Cup qualifier against France on Wednesday night, with Jules Kounde receiving a red card.
And his manager at international level, Ivaylo Petev, issued a worrying statement, telling Haris Mrkonja: “I just spoke to him. He will have to do some tests tomorrow. But for now it doesn’t look good.”
Blow
It never rains but it pours for Arsenal, who are bottom of the Premier League table after three games.
Okay so Kolasinac isn’t a massive player for the club, but the fact he faced City last weekend indicated that he wasn’t totally finished at the Emirates Stadium, despite his performance in the 5-0 defeat.
And the fact that he failed to get a summer move away, with Fenerbahce turning down the chance to sign him, meant Arsenal boss Arteta could’ve still used him as an option.
But at the moment, it does look very much like he has a road to recovery ahead of him.
