Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is desperate to join Napoli this summer.

That is according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian outlet states that Giovani Lo Celso has a strong desire to move to Napoli but has encountered a hurdle.

It is thought that Tottenham only want to sell the 27-year-old, while the Serie A champions prefer doing a loan deal.

Lo Celso was named in Spurs’ squad for their 2-2 draw with Brentford last weekend but did not play a single minute and spent the previous season at Villarreal.

Taking all of that into account, it looks like the Argentine could be heading for the exit door again.

Napoli would be a good move for Giovani Lo Celso

It comes as no surprise that Lo Celso is eager to join Napoli. They are currently the champions of their league, while the former Paris Saint-Germain man would probably get more game time over at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Ultimately, he does not look to be a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s squad right now, so a move could be what is best for him if he is hoping to have a starring role this term.

It appears that Spurs are only willing to let the £100,000-a-week (Salary Sport) Argentina international go permanently, though, which is more than understandable.

He is costing the club a lot of money and has already had a couple of loans away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, indicating that he is not really in their plans.

Perhaps he could convince Postecoglou to give him more game time. A new manager can mean a fresh start after all.

If the former Celtic boss’ mind is already made up, however, and he is not planning to rely on Lo Celso, then some sort of exit plan needs to be worked out.
