Amid reports that Sheffield United are set to part company with Chris Wilder, Ex-Blades player Don Hutchinson has made a prediction about what would have happened next season had the manager stayed at Bramall Lane.
Wilder will undoubtedly go down as a Blades legend, having led them from League One to the Premier League, but unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end, and many reputable sources are now claiming that he’s on his way out.
As you can imagine, many believe that this is the wrong decision, and Hutchinson claims that Wilder would definitely have gotten United promoted next season.
You can’t really disagree with this take.
Wilder managed to get the Blades promoted in 2019 with a squad full of players who were playing League One football for the majority of their careers, and now with a team littered with big-money Premier League players, you’d have to expect him to repeat the trick.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though he’s going to get the chance to do that as it appears Wilder is on his way out of Sheffield United.
