Robbie Keane has tipped Antonio Conte to bring Dele Alli back to life at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs made a huge statement earlier this month by hiring the 52-year-old Italian coach to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.

Conte has won five league titles at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

So much of the Italian’s success is down to his man-management and no-nonsense personality.

When he joined Tottenham, it was guaranteed that some under-performing players would get a second wind – or surrender their careers in North London.

Alli hasn’t looked anywhere near his best for well over two years, having failed to impress under Nuno or Jose Mourinho.

But legendary Lilywhites hitman Keane is absolutely certain that the 25-year-old will get his groove back now that Conte is at the helm.

He told Sky Sports: “He demands a lot from his players. You look at someone like Dele Alli. Two years ago he was one of the best players in England.

“He’s fallen by the wayside since. This is the manager who’ll get him back. 100 percent.”

Cameo

The England international had a cameo this evening as Conte picked up a first Premier League win.

Tottenham beat Leeds 2-1 at home and the new manager gave Alli a five-minute stint toward the end.

Of course, he’ll have wanted to start the game, but this is a sign that Conte does indeed plan on using him and it’s really up to Alli himself from here on in whether that’s in the first XI or from the bench going forward.
