What a signing Dejan Kulusevski has proven at Tottenham Hotspur so far.
Spurs swooped to sign the Sweden international on loan from Juventus during the January transfer window, pulling it off on deadline day.
Since arriving in North London, Kulusevski has added another dimension to Tottenham’s attack.
The 22-year-old has 11 goal involvements in 13 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring three and setting up a staggering eight.
He joined Antonio Conte’s outfit on an 18-month loan deal from the Italian giants.
In April, it was reported by ESPN that Conte himself was pushing to make this loan become permanent as soon as possible.
And speaking to Football London ahead of Saturday’s visit to Liverpool, the Italian manager hinted that he’d been staying, claiming that Kulusevski is ‘100 percent’ a Tottenham player.
He said when asked about the Swede signing permanently: “Yeah, but he is on loan but it is like a deal, he is a Tottenham player 100 per cent in every aspect, not officially but he is a 100 per cent a Tottenham player.”
Conte’s use of the phrase ‘not officially’ might well indicate that a permanent arrangement for Kulusevski is all but assured, barring an announcement.
And no doubt Tottenham fans would love to see him signed up for the long term because, as mentioned, this is a special player.
Adapting to the Premier League can often be difficult, but for Kulusevski to adjust so rapidly and effortlessly bodes very well for the future.
If he’s this good within months, how good will Kulusevski be for Spurs next season?
That’s the big question and we’re going to find out.
