Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta has been speaking about Jack Wilshere as he continues to train at Arsenal.
The midfielder has been spending a lot of time at London Colney as he tries to regain his fitness as he looks to return to playing senior football.
We’ve seen plenty of pictures of Wilshere, but we don’t really know how he’s been getting on.
However, Arteta has seemingly been impressed by the 29-year-old, claiming that he’s 100 per cent capable of playing at Premier League level.
What’s been said about Wilshere?
Arteta spoke about Wilshere in training.
“First of all it’s great to have him around because he adds this special feeling to the club. His talent is unquestionable, I think you’ve heard some players say he’s the best in training. It’s up to him the next step in his career and we’re here to support that,” Arteta said.
The gaffer was then asked if he thought Wilshere was good enough to play at Premier League level again, to which he replied.
“100 per cent and if he has doubts I can tell him that.”
Inevitably, Arteta was asked if he’d get a chance to play for Arsenal, but he wasn’t quite so sure about that idea.
“That’s a different story,” Arteta said.

Worth a gamble
Arteta says that Wilshere is good enough to play at Premier League level, and after this endorsement, surely he’s worth a gamble.
Now, he’s not going to be playing for Liverpool or Manchester City anytime soon, but surely a team like Leeds, Norwich or Watford could take a punt on him.
When you’re battling relegation, sometimes you need to roll the dice, and Wilshere is surely one of the best free agents available right now.
