Ryan Taylor has said that Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia is keen on a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Express journalist has told GiveMeSport that Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia is in talks with Arsenal over personal terms.

Taylor has said that the Belgium international defensive midfielder is really open to a switch to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The reporter has added that Arsenal could find it tough to find an agreement with Southampton over a transfer fee.

Taylor said about Arsenal and Lavia: “I know they’ve been discussing personal terms with his agent and Lavia, who would be 100% open to joining Arsenal and it does look like there’s concrete interest, but at this moment in time, the price tag will have to drop.

“I think the issue Southampton have is that their valuation has been clouded by the fact Chelsea offered £50 million last August and City have that £40 million buyback that becomes active in 2024.”

Could Arsenal sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton?

In our opinion, Arsenal could be able to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

True, the Saints are not going to sell the youngster on the cheap, but they are unlikely to stand in his way if he wants to go.

And, according to Taylor, Lavia is clearly open to the idea of making the move from Southampton to Premier League.

We believe that Arsenal should start discussions with Southampton over Lavia.

It seems that the Gunners are progressing well in their quest to convince the midfielder to move to the North London club.

The bigger issue would be to find an agreement with Southampton, and Arsenal need to start working on it right now.
