Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to demand Nuno Espirito Santo hands Dilan Markanday some game time against Rennes tomorrow.
What’s the story?
Well, the 20-year-old certainly deserves an opportunity.
In four appearances so far this season, Markanday has scored four goals while also providing two assists for his teammates.
The forward has began the campaign on fire, and it would only be right if Nuno hands him a senior debut.
Last season, the London-born winger only scored three goals in 20 appearances, so it’s clear he’s been working on improving himself.
In fairness, he did suffer some fitness issues last term.
Markanday is arguably Tottenham’s brightest prospect behind Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine.
The prospect has scored 17 goals in 39 games for the Under-18 side, and currently has 20 goal involvements in 48 outings for the Under-23s.
Should Dilan Markanday start for Tottenham?

In our view, Markanday definitely deserves an opportunity, but not a start.
Rennes are no minnows, and in Jeremy Doku, they can pose a real threat to the north Londoners.
It’s certainly not a game to be taken lightly.
In fact, it’s probably Tottenham’s hardest game of the group stage.

However, if things are going well and Spurs find themselves 3-0 up, then we see no reason why Nuno can’t hand Scarlett and Markanday some action.
After the pathetic display against Crystal Palace on Saturday, it’s hardly like some first-team members deserve another start.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the bright attacking prodigy, who is in fine form…
