After Germany crashed out of the World Cup, many wondered if Hansi Flick would be removed from his role as the national team’s manager.

Indeed, this level of underperformance is, quite simply, unacceptable for a team like Germany, and there were apparently real discussions about sacking Flick.

Understandably, this speculation led to rumours around who could potentially be replacing Flick, and Jurgen Klopp was one name that cropped up time and time again.

Klopp has previously admitted that he would love to manage Germany one day, and speculation ran wild when Die Mannschaft were eliminated at the group stages.

However, with Flick set to stay, it sounds like Klopp’s future at Liverpool is secure, and now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the Liverpool boss’ situation.

Romano says that Klopp is 100 per cent committed to Liverpool and that must be music to the Anfield faithful’s ears.

Make no mistake about it, despite Liverpool’s poor start to the season, Klopp is the most important figure at the club right now.

Not only is his management vital, he seems to be about to take a much more defined role in the Reds’ recruitment strategy as Julian Ward gears up to leave the club.

As Romano says, Klopp’s main objective in terms of recruitment right now is to get Jude Bellingham to Anfield, and it seems as though the Merseyside club may well be leading that race after it was reported this week that the player’s family are sold on a move to Anfield.
