Celtic beat rivals Rangers 5-1 at Parkhead in the first Scottish Premiership match between the sides since 2012.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring their fourth goal and completing his hat-trick
New signing Moussa Dembele marked his Old Firm debut with a hat-trick against 10-man Rangers as the Hoops claimed a 5-1 win at Celtic Park.
Celtic fans may have been disappointed that star striker Leigh Griffiths was forced out of the match through injury but his replacement more than stepped up to the plate with a ‘perfect’ hat-trick against their Glasgow rivals.
Dembele opened the scoring in the first half with a bullet header before doubling the host’s lead shortly after as he stroked the ball in with his right foot.
Rangers soon pulled a goal back just before half-time as Joe Garner headed in to give the visitors some hope going into the second period.

But Celtic restored their two-goal advantage on the hour mark as Dembele set-up Scott Sinclair who grabbed his fourth goal in four league matches for his new club.
Gers debutant Philippe Senderos was then dismissed following a second yellow card for handball and Celtic took full advantage as they added two more goals inside the final 10 minutes.
Dembele completed his hat-trick with a well taken left-footed strike from Mikael Lustig’s cross before substitute Stuart Armstrong completed the rout in added time.

And the 5-1 result is the biggest Old Firm win since Rangers won by the same scoreline almost 16 years ago, and Dembele became the first player to score a hat-trick in a league meeting in 50 years.
