With eight teams playing twice this Gameweek, there are potential for big returns. Make sure you don’t miss out…
The 17 points earned by Bolton’s Martin Petrov showed the value of having a player with two games. You may even want to consider dropping Van Persie.
Manchester United and Manchester City players don’t offer half as much value with the two sides clashing and Arsenal away at Stoke, so look at these 10 instead…
1) Papiss Cisse
11 goals in 9 games should say it all about Cisse’s form. He faces two away trips to Wigan, and then Chelsea, and you’d fancy him to score in at least one of those matches.
2) Clint Dempsey
Clint Dempsey has been a big shock lately, he has failed to score in his last two games. Don’t bet on this continuing, it could be a schoolboy error not to have him in your team. Fulham face away trips to Everton and Liverpool, who he has a great record against.
3) Hatem Ben Arfa
Ben Arfa is Newcastle’s player with the x-factor, who can unlock defences, and could really show his worth against both Wigan and Chelsea. He is relatively cheap too, costing just 6.1 in price.
4) Nikica Jelavic
Everton striker Jelavic has been a revelation since signing at Goodison Park, and has three goals in his last two games- against Manchester United and Liverpool. With the Toffees lining up at home to Fulham and away at Stoke, he has to be fancied for more goals.
5) Gareth Bale
Spurs winger Gareth Bale has struggled of late, but Theo Walcott’s injury will lead many managers straight to him, as he is of a similar price. Spurs need to get back on track, and have matches at home to Blackburn and away at Bolton. They will be tough, but Bale has a good chance of reaping the rewards.
6) Martin Petrov
As we have already mentioned, Petrov was a key man last week, and should not be ignored while he is in form. He is Bolton’s key creator, and set piece taker, netting a penalty against Villa. Bolton have two tough matches away at Sunderland and at home to Spurs, but if they get anything out of them Petrov will be involved.
7) Rafael van der Vaart
Van der Vaart edges Yohan Cabaye into this list because of Spurs ‘easier’ fixtures on paper. No doubt they will make hard work of them, but Van der Vaart scored twice against Blackburn at Ewood Park and will fancy his chances of a repeat performance.
8) John Terry
Surely it is written in the stars that John Terry will score against QPR this weekend. He has lots of making up to do thanks to his red card in midweek, and with Chelsea’s back line depleted, Terry will be relied upon to hold it together. The match at home to Newcastle again offers ‘big match redemption’ after midweek.
9) Gylfi Sigurdsson
Swansea may only be playing once, but Sigurdsson has the ability to net as many games from one match as other would from two. Then when you consider Swansea are at home to relegated club Wolves, he is more tempting than ever.
10) Steven Pienaar
Everton midfielder Pienaar has 19 points in his last two games, and a repeat of that would be most welcome against Fulham and Stoke. Priced at 7.1 he looks great value.
