A look at how Ross Killock has got on since leaving Leeds United.
Former academy prospect Ross Killock was released by Leeds United in the summer after failing to make the breakthrough to the first team.
The centre-back was part of the academy side which featured Kalvin Phillips and Alex Mowatt, but beyond pre-season involvement, he did not make the next step required.
After loans at Alfreton Town, Halifax and Stockport, Killock was picked up by another non-league side in the summer, Chester City.
Unfortunately it has not panned out as planned for the 22-year-old, with his season so far ruined by injuries.
Leeds United’s Ross Killock
Killock signed for Chester back in June, and fans were made to wait for his debut.
The prospect’s injury problems meant he did not make his debut until late October, and when he did, it did not exactly work out as planned.
The match against Macclesfield Town last week saw Killock withdrawn just 10 minutes into his first start, after aggravating his long standing hamstring injury.
The Chester Chronicle report that the problem affected his final season at Leeds, and Killock was visibly distressed to see his debut end so badly.
Having spent time on loan at the club previously, they are not going to give up on him, with manager Jon McCarthy saying: “There is a very good player there. He is an important part of our group and we will look after him.”
Despite this Killock is on a one-year contract and will need to have better luck over the rest of the campaign if he if going to prolong his stay at the club, and eventually move up the football ladder.
