Leeds United could be in the market for a striker this winter.

Sourcing a new striker is expected to be among Leeds United’s top priorities in January.
Caleb Ekuban looks set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Jay-Roy Grot has struggled to nail down a regular spot since his own summer move.
As things stand, Leeds will enter the season’s second half with only Kemar Roofe and Pierre-Michel Lasogga as viable options up front.

And with Lasogga’s long-term future uncertain – the German, who it is perhaps fair to say has impressed and disappointed in equal measure thus far, is only on loan from Hamburg – Leeds would be wise to secure an alternative sooner rather than later.
One player who could be ideal is Charlie Wyke. Like Lasogga, the Bradford City striker is a classic number nine – standing at close to six feet tall and possessing a knack for finding danger in the box.
Though Wyke’s 10 goals in 21 games this season should be enough alone to attract interest in January, clubs – not to mention Leeds’ secondary line of attackers – should also be encouraged by his six assists in that time.

And while some will argue those have arrived exclusively against League One and Two opposition, Leeds – whose captain Liam Cooper and top scorer Roofe signed from third tier clubs – should know better than to turn up their nose at those currently plying their trade in the lower divisions.
Of course, that’s not to say that signing Wyke would be entirely risk free – though he’d be a less expensive gamble than many.
