It hasn’t been a brilliant season for Leeds United.
Due to an injury crisis that never subsides, Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit have been flirting with the relegation zone in the Premier League for all season without ever really falling into the bottom three.
And for a Leeds side that finished ninth in the standings last term on their return to the Premier League, it’s been underwhelming to say the least.
However, this could be the season that’s forever remembered for the one that birthed Joe Gelhardt.
The 19-year-old has established himself as an absolute gem after breaking into Bielsa’s senior squad, courtesy of Patrick Bamford’s fitness struggles.
The former Wigan academy player, who Leeds signed for £1 million in 2020, has exploded on to the scene and scored his first Premier League goal away at Chelsea in December.
Despite his inexperience, the youngster seems utterly fearless no matter who the Elland Road outfit come up against.
And Four Four Two have included him in their list of 50 of the world’s most exciting teenagers.
Gelhardt – nicknamed Joffy – placed 31st in the list and even some Leeds supporters might argue that it should be higher, based on his limited but undeniable credentials thus far.
Next season could be massive for the prospect.
