Newcastle United continue to be linked with new faces, with Manchester United striker Anthony Martial now allegedly wanted at St James’ Park.

The Sun reported over the weekend that Newcastle are keen to take Martial to Tyneside during the January window.

Martial is keen to leave United having found first-team football hard to come by this season.

Martial has started just two league games this season and appears to be down the packing order at Old Trafford.

Newcastle are allegedly willing to pay a hefty £6million just to take Martial on loan until the end of the season.

Martial is far from a lost cause at 26, but whether he would fancy a move to Newcastle remains to be seen.

Newcastle fans react to Martial rumours

Newcastle supporters have been taking to Twitter to discuss Martial and seem a little conflicted.

Some think Martial would be a great signing for Newcastle and can provide a real goal threat.

There is even a belief that Martial would be great backup for Callum Wilson – surely Martial wouldn’t join just to be second choice!

Others question Martial’s attitude and think he isn’t what Newcastle need in a relegation battle.
