Gerrard’s Rangers will face Hamilton away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Katic had to withdraw from the Croatia U-21 squad due to injury, but Rangers boss Gerrard has made it clear that the 22-year-old is fit to play against Hamilton in the league this weekend.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “Barisic is very close but won’t be available for the weekend, Katic is fine, one hundred per cent ready to go.”
Encouraging update
Katic is a very talented and promising young defender, and the 22-year-old Croatia international’s return to full fitness is certainly great news for Rangers.

The 22-year-old has featured in six Scottish Premiership matches for the Gers and have played in both of Rangers’ Europa League group-stage games so far this campaign, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Katic joined Rangers from Slaven Belupo in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2 million.
Rangers are sixth in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 14 points from eight matches.
