Glasgow Rangers winger Eros Grezda is yet to start for the Gers since making his summer move to Ibrox.

It has been a frustrating time for the £2 million ace since he arrived at Ibrox in the latter stages of the summer. He has made just two substitute appearances and has had to look on as Gerrard’s men shine in the Europa League while also putting themselves in contention in the Scottish Premiership.
But after getting 90 minutes under his belt in his country’s Nations League game at the weekend, Grezda has shared the encouraging conversation he had with his manager before he left to join up with his national team.

“It’s been difficult as the other (Rangers) players had developed through the pre-season stage, while I only signed up in the end (of transfer window). Gerrard told me that when I was ready, he would give me minutes.”
Unfortunately for Grezda, the likes of Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias are playing some fantastic football and are linking up with Alfredo Morelos superbly, so it would be a bizarre move to drop either of the wide-men at this stage of the season.
But perhaps the timing of one of the 23-year-old’s first starts could come as a major surprise to the Ibrox faithful. Rangers have two games to see off before they face Aberdeen in the League Cup semi-final, and the clash at Hampden Park leaves Gerrard with something of a dilemma.

Morelos and Kyle Lafferty are unavailable for the semi-final, and it would be a huge shock if Umar Sadiq featured given how his loan has played out so far.
Grezda is not the ideal option, but he is one of the remaining available players who has played up front for club and country in the past. It would be a gamble to have him leading the line – especially if his full debut does not come in the next two games – but it may potentially end up being the best avenue for Gerrard to go down.
