Glenn Middleton continues to impress in the Rangers first team.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard hailed youngster Glenn Middleton after his brilliant display in the 4-0 win over Ayr United on Wednesday night.
The Light Blues booked their place in the Scottish League Cup semi-final by beating Ayr at Ibrox, as they set up a tie against Aberdeen in the next round of the competition.
Middleton got his opportunity to start in the Rangers first team and made the most of it with a goal in each half, while Nikola Katic and Alfredo Morelos were also on the scoresheet.
The 18-year-old attacker has been with the senior team this season and has mainly been featuring as a substitute in matches.
But Gerrard has revealed that the Scottish teenager is making it extremely hard for him when it comes to selecting his team and praised him for his latest performance.
“I’ve had this game in my mind for a long time for Glenn, obviously he’s been an impact player for us of late and he’s done terrifically well and this was a game I always had my eye on that he’d go from the beginning,” Gerrard said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“He’s done himself no harm and he’s making it really difficult for me at the moment when I’m picking teams and squads because he’s doing everything he can to force his way in.
“He’s a terrific finisher and you always get judged as an attacking player on goals and assists. He’s adding goals to his game and not just looking a threat out wide.”

Middleton has certainly emerged as the breakout star at Ibrox this season already and looks like he could become a mainstay in the team in years to come.
The dazzling attacker is a brilliant threat in wide areas with his pace and dribbling, while he can also chip in for the team in front of goal.
Rangers’ hectic fixture list means that Gerrard is having to rotate his squad fairly frequently and Middleton is seizing his opportunities whenever he gets the chance.
Rangers travel to Livingston at the weekend for a league clash and the youngster will hope to be involved in some format.
