Jason Holt is on loan at League One Fleetwood Town after being let go by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

It was little surprise when Rangers decided to send Jason Holt out on loan to Fleetwood Town back in July.
Central midfield was already arguably the strongest area of Steven Gerrard’s squad and The Gers added to their options by bringing in Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria and Lassana Coulibaly, while welcoming back Andy Halliday following a spell on loan in Azerbaijan.
But while Holt was not deemed good enough for Rangers, he has certainly made a positive impact at Fleetwood.
The former Hearts midfielder has started eight out of nine League One games and was described as ‘tremendous’ and ‘phenomenal’ by Cod Army coach Joey Barton in August, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
And, speaking to the East Lothian Courier, Holt has admitted that he is enjoying a new lease of life at Highbury Stadium.
“I have really enjoyed it here since day one,” said the 25-year-old.
“The manager is in his first job and new to this kind of role but he has been really good.
“Speaking for myself and the rest of the players, I have really enjoyed working under him.”

A move to League One has given Holt the chance to test himself against massive clubs like Sunderland and Bradford City and the hard-working enforcer is relishing the opportunity.
“For a player, it is great to play in these games against these teams and I think that is going to be good,” Holt added.
“It is an experience for myself as well, coming down and getting to play at places like the Stadium of Light.
“For me, coming down here, it is a new challenge.”
Should he continue to impress at Fleetwood, don’t rule out Holt being handed a second chance by Gerrard at Ibrox.
