Glasgow Rangers winger Daniel Candeias’s performances for Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club have impressed former Gers star Ally Dawson.
Rangers winger Daniel Candeias
Dawson, who played for Rangers in the 1970s and 1980s, has been impressed with the performances of Candeias for the Ibrox club so far this season.
The 30-year-old is playing well for Steven Gerrard’s side and is creating chances for his Gers teammates.
Dawson has spoken highly of Candeias – who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Portuguese giants Benfica for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £700,000 and when Pedro Caixinha was in charge of the Gers.
“I look at the likes of Daniel Candeias,” Dawson told The Daily Record. “I was impressed with him last season but you look at him this year and his all round play has such a purpose.
“He’s not just running around and doing his own thing. He’s still getting forward and creating but there’s a real discipline and desire to use his pace to get back as well. Candeias sums up the entire squad just now.”

Pushing for the title
Candeias’s form and performances is one of the main reasons why Rangers are doing so well in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.
The 30-year-old former Portugal Under-23 international will be an important figure for the Gers in their push for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Gerrard’s side are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 11 points from six matches, five points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian and a point clear of sixth-placed Celtic.
