Rangers beat St Johnstone 5-1 at Ibrox this afternoon.

Rangers picked up another league win under Steven Gerrard as they dismantled St Johnstone in a 5-1 win at Ibrox this afternoon.
The Gers were in good spirits after a superb 2-2 draw at Villarreal on Thursday night, whilst their last league game saw them thrash Dundee 4-0 last weekend.
Gerrard was looking for a similarly convincing win against St Johnstone, and that’s exactly what he got in a dominant performance at Ibrox today.
James Tavernier opened the scoring with a fine free kick before Alfredo Morelos bagged a second, and Scott Arfield added a third when Ryan Kent hit the crossbar.
Kyle Lafferty tucked home a fourth, and whilst Blair Alston pulled one back from the penalty spot, Daniel Candeias cut inside to make it 5-1 in the late stages of the game.
Rangers have now jumped above Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, and sit second as they continue to thrive under new manager Gerrard this season.

A host of players impressed, but Gerrard has particular praise after the final whistle for youngster Ross McCrorie, who came in for a rare start and not only starred in midfield, but then moved to right back and fared well there too.
Rangers fans took to Twitter during and after the game to hail McCrorie, with many picking him as man of the match, whilst suggesting he was different class and outstanding in a superb performance, with one fan even tipping him to become an absolute legend for Rangers over the coming years.
