Matthew Pennington sends message to Ipswich Town fans after defeat

Everton-owned Matthew Pennington was in action for Ipswich Town against Hull City in the Championship on Saturday.

Everton-owned Matthew Pennington has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message to Ipswich Town fans following the defeat to Hull City.

Pennington, who spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Leeds United from Premier League club Everton, featured for Ipswich in their Championship match against Hull away from home at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

 

The 23-year-old central defender - who joined the Tractor Boys on loan from the Toffees in the summer transfer window - started the match against the Tigers and played for the entire 90 minutes.

Hull got the better of Ipswich 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium, thanks to goals from Jarrod Bowen and ackson Irvine.

Pennington has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the defeat to Ipswich and has thanked the fans.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hosts Hull had 46% of the possession, took 13 shots of which seven were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Ipswich had 54% of the possession, took six shots of which only one was on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
