De Laet has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Leicester City for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £2.5 million.

The Belgium defender is a very experienced footballer who won the Premier League title with Leicester City during the 2015-16 campaign.

The former Manchester City defender was able to make just three appearances in the Championship for Villa last season, according to WhoScored.
