Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor
McGregor, who returned to Ibrox club Rangers in the summer transfer window, and Celtic goalkeeper Gordon are the two main goalkeepers for Scotland at the moment.
While Gordon - who earns £8000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star - played in the friendly international against Belgium last week, Rangers goalkeeper McGregor turned out against Albania this week.
The 35-year-old former Heart of Midlothian and Sunderland goalkeeper has suggested that he is not going to give up on a place in the Scotland starting lineup easily.
Gordon told The Daily Record: “I’ll continue to play until I’m no longer asked to. I’d love to go to a tournament and I like to think we have a good chance of reaching the Euros.
“I definitely not going to say I don’t want to be involved – I want to be the first choice but I’d be happy to go along as back-up if need be.”
Message for Allan McGregor
Gordon is clearly not going to give up on becoming the Scotland first-choice goalkeeper on a permanent basis, and that should push Rangers goalkeeper McGregor even more.
Both the Celtic and the Rangers stars are brilliant goalkeepers, and it is going to be an interesting battle between the duo in the Scottish Premiership this season.
