Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has made a decent start to life in charge at Ibrox.

Rangers legend Derek Johnstone spoke exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times, and highlighted how Steven Gerrard will know how much work still needs to be done at Ibrox.
The Gers have lost just one competitive game since Gerrard was handed the reigns in the summer, but unfortunately for them, that one defeat was in their biggest game – the Old Firm Derby against Celtic.
Rangers have taken five points from their opening four Scottish Premiership outings, and they currently sit in fifth spot in the table, a full seven points adrift of league leaders Hearts.
The Glasgow giants are back in action tomorrow with a home game against Dundee, and nothing less than a win will do, if they are to have any chance of winning the league title this season.
Johnstone, who scored 132 league goals for Rangers, told the Glasgow Evening Times how Gerrard knows that his side are a long way off being the finished article, however:

“The manager will know that the side are far from the finished article. Rangers are getting there, that is for sure, but they have now seen what Celtic are about.”
Gerrard brought in so many new players this summer, and it will obviously take time for all of them to settle in and gel with one another, but Rangers cannot afford to drop too many points, as they try to close the gap on Hearts and Celtic above them in the table.
