Ibrox ace Connor Goldson was furious with Ryan Christie’s ‘dive’ against Rangers on Sunday.

Celtic playmaker Ryan Christie has told The Scottish Sun that he definitely did not dive when challenged by Rangers defender Connor Goldson in Sunday’s Old Firm derby.
The Bhoys managed to come away with a 1-0 win over their bitter rivals, as Olivier Ntcham’s fine finish from a sweeping counter-attack handed Celtic all three points at Parkhead.
Celtic were dominant throughout, hitting the woodwork three times whilst also forcing Allan McGregor into a host of saves, with Rangers somewhat flattered by the 1-0 scoreline.
Rangers will have been disappointed with their display, especially having gone 12 games without defeat under new boss Steven Gerrard, and one player was particularly frustrated after the final whistle.
Defender Connor Goldson received a yellow card for a perceived tug on Celtic playmaker Ryan Christie, who was bursting into the box late in the game, looking for a second goal.
Goldson was furious with the decision and blasted Christie for diving at the time, with any contact certainly appearing minimal, with the Gers ace blasting him whilst speaking to The Scottish Sun too.
Now, Christie has offered his rebuttal, telling The Scottish Sun that he is adamant he didn’t dive, and mocked Goldson for being ‘right in my face’ straight after he went down, almost laughing at his reaction.

Christie added that his first Old Firm derby was a brilliant experience and enjoyed the celebrations after the final whistle, brushing off Goldson’s criticism.
“He was right in my face, wasn’t he? I haven’t watched it again but, from what I can remember, I’m pretty sure he pulled my shirt,” said Christie. “I don’t know whether or not I would have got on the end of my first touch. But I certainly didn’t think it was a dive. It was my first Old Firm game and it was a brilliant experience. I don’t think I took a breath in the first five minutes that I was on the park.”
“There’s so much adrenaline in you. You’re desperate to do well for the team and yourself. When I came on I just thought I’d run as much as I could, press as much as I could and do my bit for the team. It paid off in the end and it was nice to be on the winning side. The celebrations after the game and being on the park was really good for me,” he added.
