West Ham United reportedly offered to sign Hatem Ben Arfa during the summer.

Ben Arfa is a free agent after two years with Paris Saint-Germain. It was a mixed spell for the winger at Parc des Princes as he managed to make 32 appearances in all competitions during his first year with PSG, but then did not appear once during his second campaign.
L’Equipe adds that Rennes are currently doing all they can to try and convince Ben Arfa to join them.
It would perhaps be a surprise if the Hammers made a fresh move for Ben Arfa at any stage. Although Manuel Pellegrini’s men have made a disappointing start to the new Premier League season, they are not short of exciting attacking options.

If Ben Arfa is able to find his best form, then he would be a superb signing for whoever his next club proves to be. However, his inconsistency makes a deal seem like a significant gamble even when the move would not require a transfer fee.
It would be little surprise therefore, if there were some West Ham fans keen to see a new approach for Ben Arfa made, while other Hammers supporters were desperate to see the attacking midfielder snapped up by another club before he possibly becomes a tempting option once again.
