Linked with Rangers this summer, Davis has seemed to finally overcome injury.

Southampton star Steven Davis returned to action for the first time since April 19 as the Saints beat Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 in the second round of the Carabao Cup – and some Rangers fans reacted by urging him to return to Ibrox.
The 101-time Northern Ireland international has been battling a hamstring injury of late, as he enters the final year of his contract at Southampton under manager Mark Hughes.
However, he managed to put those demons behind him and play a full 90 minutes as the Saints earned a narrow 1-0 win over Chris Hughton’s Brighton – thanks to an 88th-minute Charlie Austin strike.
Davis, 33, posted on Twitter after the match after finally overcoming injury to pull on the red and white of Southampton once again and captain the side to victory, describing his return as “nice to be back on the pitch”.
Davis was linked with a move back to Rangers this summer, six years after leaving Ibrox following the club’s financial collapse. Sky Sports claimed Steven Gerrard was interested in landing the former Gers star back in June.
The box-to-box central midfielder scored 21 goals but more impressively created 60 goals during his 200 Rangers appearances, which saw him win the Scottish Premiership three times, League Cup twice and Scottish Cup once.
Some Rangers fans reacted to his Tweet, pleading with the midfielder to return to Ibrox – a decade after he first signed with the club on loan from Fulham.
