Glasgow Rangers continued their unbeaten start to the season drawing away from Ibrox, while the champions moved above them with a win.

Kyle Lafferty of Rangers is seen during the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Play Off match between Rangers and FC Ufa at Ibrox Stadium on August 23, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to announce his Team of the Week in the Scottish Premiership, with Rangers pair Borna Barisic and Kyle Lafferty included, while Celtic’s Dedryck Boyata also takes a spot in the side.

It was a dramatic game for the Gers as they looked to continue their unbeaten start to the season in all competitions. Steven Gerrard’s men came from behind on two occasions to lead 3-2 at half-time of their clash with Motherwell at Fir Park, but ultimately had to settle for a point with Peter Hartley scoring with virtually the last kick of the game.

The shining light for the Light Blues on a difficult afternoon was the performance of Lafferty on his full debut. While many have expected his signing to be a success, there have been some who are less convinced about the Northern Ireland international or did not want him back at Ibrox in the wake of his departure six years ago.

However, he silenced many of his critics and doubters with a brace against Well to leave him at the top of the Scottish Premiership scoring charts in the early stages of the campaign.

Meanwhile, another summer signing, Barisic provided glimpses of why Gerrard wasted little time to get him signed following Rangers’ Europa League clash with Osijek with a fantastic display down the left wing against Stephen Robinson’s side.

Heading into the weekend, it would have surprised many if you had suggested that Boyata would be emerging from the latest round of games with plenty of praise coming his way given the recent events at Parkhead which have seen him linked with a potential exit at a time when there appears to be little clarity regarding his situation.

His future may remain unclear, but he did remind the Celtic fans why Brendan Rodgers would love to keep him with the only goal as the Hoops kept a clean sheet to beat Hamilton and move up to second in the table.

And Sutton decided to include the Belgian in his Team of the Week following the 1-0 win over Accies. Here is the team in full…
