Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought former Gers forward Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox.
Kyle Lafferty of Rangers
Rangers have signed Lafferty from Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Glasgow Evening Times to be worth £500,000.
The 30-year-old Northern Ireland international forward was on the books of Rangers from from 2008 until 2012.
Motherwell manager Robinson knows Lafferty well from his time working with the Northern Ireland coaching staff.
The former Northern Ireland midfielder has praised the new Rangers signing for the way he has matured in recent years.
Robinson made the comments ahead of Motherwell’s match against Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
“He is somebody who has got a reputation that goes before him,” Robinson told The Glasgow Evening Times about Lafferty. “But any dealings I have had with Laff I have found him to be a good lad.
“He has never caused me a moment’s bother. He works hard. When he goes onto the pitch he is second to none.
“I worked with him for six weeks solid in the Euros and he never caused me a problem. He has got a young baby now and has settled down and grown up.”

Encouraging comments
Rangers fans will find Robinson’s comments about Lafferty very encouraging, and the Ibrox faithful will hope that the forward plays well for the Gers.
The Gers needed an experienced forward, and they have got one in Lafferty, who has the habit of popping up with important goals in big matches, as he recently did for Hearts against Celtic this season.
