Rangers manager Steven Gerrard brought the striker back to Ibrox yesterday.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s Europa League clash tonight, and responded to reporters when asked about new signing Kyle Lafferty, predicting that the 30-year-old will go on to become a big player at Ibrox, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The Gers have not won the Scottish Premiership title since 2011, but there is a real sense of optimism reverberating around Ibrox for the first time in a very long time.
Gerrard has brought 12 new faces into the club this summer, with Lafferty being the latest addition to his ranks, and many are tipping the Northern Ireland international to be a real hit at Ibrox.
The 30-year-old knows all about playing for Rangers, of course, having spent four years at Ibrox from 2008-2012, and Gerrard predicted that he will turn out to be a big player for the Gers, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times:

“I’ve made no secret how much I rate the player. He’s someone players don’t like playing against and he knows what this club is all about. I know he’s been a bit raw and a bit naive at times in his younger years but so was I, I have no problem with that. Look, we’re all human beings and we all make mistakes – I’ve made plenty. The reason I wanted Connor (Goldson) and Allan McGregor was to have an experienced spine who know what winning football matches is all about and Kyle ticks those boxes. He’s proved that of late but also for many, many years. He’s an international footballer and I predict he’ll be a big player for Rangers. We’ve got a happy footballer who is desperate to contribute and as a manager that’s brilliant.”
Whether Lafferty will be ready to play tonight is doubtful, but Gerrard will surely include him in his squad for Sunday’s trip to Motherwell, and the big striker will be desperate to make an instant impact for his new club.
