Championship leaders Leeds United sent left-back Tyler Denton on loan to League One Peterborough to try and get him some regular game time.

If Tyler Denton had realistic hopes of breaking into the Leeds United first-team in the future, he really needed to stand out at League One level with Peterborough. So far, however, the signs aren’t too good.
The 22-year-old defender arrived at London Road with a point to prove after a difficult loan spell with Port Vale last season, for whom he featured just 15 times.
So far, Denton has started just one game for Peterborough and he didn’t exactly make a positive impression. The left-back played the full 90 minutes of last week’s 2-0 EFL Cup defeat to Queens Park Rangers and many Posh supporters took to Twitter to lambast a disappointing debut.
And, perhaps even more worryingly, Denton has now been left out of the matchday squad for Peterborough’s last two games. Steve Evans’ side beat Luton on Saturday and won away at Charlton on Tuesday night but Denton was not involved in either fixture.

So if he can’t get a game at League One level, the chances of him finally making the grade at Elland Road arguably look more slim now than ever.
The Dewsbury-born former England U17 international has only ever made three first-team appearances for Leeds and it remains to be seen if he adds to that tally.
