Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers brought Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor back to Ibrox this summer.
Allan McGregor of Rangers
McGregor joined Rangers in the summer transfer window as a free agent following his departure from Hull City in the Championship in England at the end of last season.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper started his professional club football career at Rangers, and was on the books of the Gers from 1998 until 2012.
The Scotland international has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Rangers this season, and he has made some great saves in the Scottish Premiership and in the Europa League qualifiers.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson, who had two separate spells at the Ibrox club, believes that McGregor is the Gers’ most important summer signing and will bag 12 points for the Glasgow giants.

Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record regarding McGregor’s performance against NK Maribor on Thursday: “There was only really one save from McGregor in the second half to keep out Marcos Tavares then the penalty stop from the same player at the end.
“But that’s what you get from McGregor – he is backing up my prediction he would be the most important summer recruit and will win Rangers up to a dozen league points this season.”
Brilliant signing
McGregor knows the Scottish top flight inside out, and his previous success at Rangers means that signing him on a free transfer in the summer transfer window was a no-brainer.
