Lassana Coulibaly missed Rangers’ midweek draw with Maribor.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard says he doesn’t believe Lassana Coulibaly has picked up a serious injury but will have a further scan on Friday as a precaution, Sky Sports report.
The on-loan Angers midfielder has been a superb addition in Rangers’ midfield, proving that you don’t need to go out and spend silly money to seriously strengthen the first-team XI.
But a thigh injury ruled him out of Rangers’ 0-0 draw with Maribor on Thursday, and there are some concerns that the nine-capped Mali international could be set for a further spell on the side-lines.
Speaking to reporters, Gerrard eased any fears over a potential long-term injury by suggesting his staff don’t believe it’s a serious problem though he is due to have further tests done.
“He has got a scan just to check the injury out as a precaution. We don’t think it’s a serious problem but he’s an important player for us so we want to check it out just to see if there is any damage in there,” the former Liverpool midfielder said.
Coulibaly, 22, joined the Gers on a season-long loan deal in July and has quickly established himself as a potential fans favourite for the Scottish Premiership title challengers.

His nonstop running and pressing off the ball have earned him plenty of plaudits thus far, while his quality on the ball shouldn’t be underestimated either.
Rangers look to continue their unbeaten start to the season as they take on Kilmarnock in the Betfred Cup this weekend, and confidence appears to be rising in the Ibrox camp.
Gerrard has shown his capabilities as manager so far with some impressive tactical moves, while player performances from certain individuals also appear to be improving as the games come thick and fast.
