Wigan Athletic-owned Sunderland midfielder Max Power has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to making his competitive debut at the Stadium of Light against Sheffield Wednesday.

Power has joined League One club Sunderland on loan from Championship side Wigan in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old midfielder will be on loan at the Black Cats until January when the deal will be made permanent.

 

The former Tranmere Rovers man featured for Sunderland in their Carabao Cup first-round tie against Championship club Wednesday on Thursday evening.

Power started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Black Cats lost 2-0.

The Sunderland midfielder has taken to Twitter to express his delight at making his competitive debut at the Stadium of Light, with some fans of the League One club responding to his message on the social networking site.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light on Thursday evening, hosts Sunderland had 55% of the possession, took 13 shots of which just one was on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.
