Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard speaks highly of Ibrox goalkeeper Allan McGregor after his performance for the Gers on Thursday.

Allan McGregor returned to Rangers in the summer transfer window after leaving Hull City at the end of last season, and the 36-year-old has already established himself as a key player in Steven Gerrard’s team.
McGregor, who started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Ibrox club from 1998 until 2012, is the first-choice goalkeeper at the Gers at the moment.
The 36-year-old 6ft 0 in star was in action for Rangers on Thursday evening, as the Gers took on NK Maribor in the second leg of their Europa League Qualifying Third Round.
The Scotland international goalkeeper was a key player in the draw, as the former Hull man made a number of saves and also denied Marcos Tavares from the spot, as shown in the photo below.

After the match, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard spoken highly of McGregor and praised his performance against Maribor.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “I can’t speak highly of them enough – there are individuals there who deserve a lot of credit – Allan McGregor was a mountain for us tonight – what a man.”
The draw with Maribor in the second leg on Thursday evening means that Rangers have progressed to the Europa League playoff round 3-1 on aggregate.
