Rangers are reportedly confident of bringing Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox from Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts in the next day or two.

There are some strikers who seem to thrive in the colours of their country as opposed to that of their club. Miroslav Klose, Peter Crouch, Danny Welbeck to name but three and Kyle Lafferty certainly falls into that category too.
A talismanic figure in Northern Ireland’s unprecedented recent success, Lafferty’s form at club level however has left a lot to be desired. Between 2014 and 2016, when he was at his best in Irish green, the striker scored just seven goals in all competitions for Norwich, Birmingham and Caykur Rizespor.
But the 2017/18 season saw a change in Lafferty. Returning to Scottish football with Hearts, the 30-year-old scored 19 goals in a terrific individual season in which he finally showed his international form on a weekly basis.
Rangers, then, are picking the right time to bring him back to Ibrox. According to the Daily Record, Rangers have had a £200,000 bid rejected but are confident now of re-signing Lafferty, who is valued at £750,000, within the next 48 hours.

The gifted striker appears to be entering the prime of his career and could be a much more useful addition than he was in his first spell at The Gers between 2008 and 2012, when he scored 38 goals in 138 games.
Lafferty is experienced and has developed a knack for game changing moments. He’s also in the form of his life and, crucially, appears to have a golden touch against Celtic too.
