Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has to score in the Old Firm derby, suggests former Ibrox star Ian Durrant.
Alfredo Morelos at Rangers
Rangers star Morelos is one of the best young strikers in the Scottish Premiership and has been in good form for the Gers so far this season.
The 22-year-old striker – who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from HJK Helsinki for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million – has scored two goals in the Europa League qualifiers and one in two Scottish Premiership appearances so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Morelos played well for Rangers last season, but the Colombian did not score against Celtic in any of the Old Firm derby matches.
Rangers legend and former Scotland international midfielder Durrant has asked whether Morelos can score against Celtic.
Durrant told The Scottish Sun about Morelos: “He has been scoring every week and will be looking to keep that going. If he stays free of injury and suspension then he will be looking to improve.
“But the crux of the matter is this — can he score in Old Firm games? He has this opportunity in a few weeks to show he can do that. The game against Celtic is the ultimate marker.”

Scoring against Celtic
Morelos is a very good striker, and it is only a matter of time before the Rangers star scores against Celtic.
The Gers will take on Brendan Rodgers’s side at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on September 2, and it is a great occasion for the youngster to score his first goal against the Bhoys.
