Ings, who joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, featured for the Saints in their Premier League game against Burnley at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 26-year-old forward did not start the match, but the England international came on as a substitute in the 56th minute.
Le Tissier has also suggested on Twitter that Southampton signing Ings for £20 million would be a snip.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Southampton will have to sign Ings for an initial transfer fee of £18 million next summer plus £2m in add-ons after his season-long loan spell.
Hard fought point today, burnley dominant early and should’ve been in front at half time but a much better 2nd half with some positive substitutions and a change of formation, @IngsDanny looked good on his debut, 20mill will be a snip— Matt Le Tissier (@mattletiss7) August 12, 2018
