Report: Tottenham Hotspur called Manchester United over signing two players, not just Anthony Martial

Tottenham Hotspur failed to make a single signing over the summer transfer window, with Mauricio Pochettino's side failing to strengthen.

According to the Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur owner Daniel Levy called Manchester United about two players, not just Anthony Martial.

Tottenham were keen to take two United players, although the identity of the second player is unknown as yet.

 

Spurs were unable to get a deal over the line for either of the Red Devils pair that they wanted, but they did attempt to make signings.

Levy rang Ed Woodward to enquire over the availability of two United players, but there was no negotiations.

United refused to sell Martial, as Woodward wanted to keep the French international at Old Trafford.

Tottenham failed to make a single signing this summer, in a transfer window which frustrated many of their supporters.
