Gomes signed for Everton on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

New Everton signing Andre Gomes has responded to fans on Twitter by saying that he will remain on the sidelines for three weeks, meaning he is unlikely to feature until September 16.
Gomes, 25, joined The Toffees on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, becoming the third play to join the Merseyside club from Barcelona this summer – along with Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne.
However, 29-time Portugal international Gomes picked up a long-term hamstring injury during the pre-season clash against Tottenham Hotspur and remains on the sidelines.
Replying to a fan on Twitter, Gomes stated that he is working hard to return to action and make his debut for Everton, but believes he is three weeks away from declaring himself fit.
That means the playmaker is expected to miss matches against Wolves on Saturday, Southampton and Bournemouth and remains a doubt for September 1’s clash against Huddersfield.
With the match against David Wagner’s side three weeks away, Gomes is unlikely to be rushed into the match when onlyn just recovered and it may see him wait until after September’s international break before playing.
It could mean that the former Valencia star will have to wait until September 16 to pull on the blue of Everton, when they face West Ham at Goodison Park.
