Celtic fans have had a mixed response to John McGinn’s latest tweet, celebrating his move to Aston Villa.

Celtic were thought to be in competition with Villa to sign McGinn this summer, but the Bhoys missed out.

And while some Celtic fans have accepted McGinn moving to Villa instead of them, others feel that he could regret the switch.

Celtic have been chasing McGinn for some time with Brendan Rodgers a big fan of the midfielder.

Rodgers even went on record to confirm his interest in McGinn during his time with Hibernian, but the Bhoys were unable to get a deal over the line.

Villa, on the other hand, acted swiftly to bring the Scot to the club following their takeover.

Villa had a slow start to the window, but the new owners have backed Steve Bruce with funds, and McGinn was one of his top targets.

Villa are next in action tomorrow against Wigan Athletic, when McGinn could feature.
