Everton are reportedly looking to wrap up the signing of Manchester Untied defender Marcos Rojo imminently before the transfer window shuts at 5pm.
According to the Telegraph on their live blog (3:24pm, 9 August), the Toffees want to sign the Man United centre-back for £22million.
The report adds a potential switch for the 28-year-old could go down to the wire, but the Merseyside club are expected to complete deals for Barcelona pair Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes (loan) first.
It is understood that Everton are now expected to land Rojo too for £22million, which suggests Man United may have a centre-back lined up to replace him.
Rojo has been heavily linked with a move to Everton during the summer and manager Marco Silva could be about to land him on a dramatic deadline day for the club.
The Argentina internatonal has a wealth of experience in English football from his time at Old Trafford and is a left-footed option that could give Silva a decent balance to his side.
He is renowned for being a no-nonsense defender and could add some real steel to the Everton back-line, which currently has the likes of Mason Holgate, Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane competing for a centre-back spot.
Rojo is reportedly set to join the club, but French outlet L’Equipe are also stating that Everton will sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan.
