Time might be running out for Aston Villa to bring in reinforcements, but at least they have until the end of the month to get rid of some of their fringe players.
English clubs can sell to foreign sides until the end of August; which gives Villa hope as they aim to get the likes of Ross McCormack, Michah Richards and Mark Bunn off their wage bill as soon as possible.
And one player who is attracting interest from elsewhere is a man you might have forgotten was even an Aston Villa player.
Aaron Tshibola has not featured in claret and blue since January 2017, spending time on loan at Nottingham Forest, MK Dons and Kilmarnock in the last year and a half. And the midfielder, a £5 million signing from Reading two years ago, is unlikely to have a role in Steve Bruce’s plans going forward this season.
Tshibola was omitted from Villa’s Championship squad list.
And the Birmingham Mail reports that he has interest from clubs in Belgium and Cyprus, although he would prefer to remain in the UK. The chances of Villa getting anything like £5 million back for the 23-year-old appear minimal to say the least.
